Create a port for Linux ..
I think it would be great if this software could run on linux-based machines ..
15 votesIt’s too much work for something I don’t use myself. Might check this again in the future though.

Window mode without the window frame.
I have a use case in which I would like to place the plane9 window on a certain position of my (2nd) screen. The window should have a defined size i.e. 200 x 1080
The purpose is to have an animation projected on a column in my room but the typical window frome and title bar should not be visible. I would be perfect to be able to do this from command line with options similar to height and width which are already available.13 votesSorry it’s a bit to specific for your user case to be worth the effort. You might be able to run it in windowed mode then user another program to manipulate the windows flags to remove the border.

Look at ways of getting this to work with Display Fusion. I have submitted several error reports on this as well. SS engages it crashes.
Make it work with display fusion screensaver and duel monitor setups.
9 votesReport this to display fusion instead since I can’t track down issues that 3rd party software creates

Allow browsing and downloading additional scenes from within the config utility
The configuration window should have a tab for downloaded scenes, and another tab for extra scenes that can be downloaded by the configuration utilty. For example, like plugins in Firefox - they can be sorted by popularity, date... etc. Of course, include scene rating capability.
By the way, Plane 9 is very cool! Can't wait for the editor.8 votesThere are no other scenes that the ones that comes with the installer so there wouldn’t exists anything to download. When/if the editor is released this would however be a good feature

If you need this you probably better look into a real VDJ/Video editor application.

Bass only reaction
Now the amplitude variable is decided by the main amplitude of the sound. Can you implement a switch that limits the range of the frequencies that are listened to. So that the Visualization doesn't react to the screaming before a drop, only with the bass that starts when the drop drops. Btw love the program! <3

Is there already a way to disable the automatic shutdown?
By the way, awesome program. Used winamp milkdrop visualizer before but it doesn't work with Windows 8.
3 votesThere is no automatic shutdown. It’s probably the normal windows sleep/hibernation modes your have set. Check the “power” options in the windows control panel.

Scene editor comment + suggestion
I was wondering why there was no scene editor till I read the blog. Effects look fantastic. Looking forward to some experimentation with the new version, hopefully with images, lines or vectors that I can set to different frequencies, to form a kind of set animation type effect, if you get me.
3 votesA updated on this old request you made. Thanks for the kind words. The editor has not yet been released and I’m not sure when it will happen. I want to rebuild it to make it easier to work with and I need to be done with major breaking changes. The next version will have more of those where I have been forced to update all scenes yet again. I can’t put that on user created scenes.

Equalify integration for Spotify!
equalify.me offers an API which you could use!
3 votesAPI in beta, but even then forcing users to download another 3rd party app to get better(?) visualization in Spotify isn’t a good solution that is worth pursuing for me. It needs to be an official API from spotify so we now it will always work, work well and for the foreseeable future. Any other solution you can just use the existing “capture what ever you hear” that the visualizer already do. I suspect that is what equalify does since it has soundcard workarounds.

a new Flame scene
I have enjoyed in the last version, the new fire effects very much. I wanted to propose as an idea for a new version, if one could not even make a three packet flamethrower. the bass frequencies change the height and beam angle.

Not working recording
Recording is not working i did everything step by step but every time when i press record video or record preview video the window is just white
2 votesIt’s not updating the window since that cuts the render speed in 1/2 or worse so better to leave it white and get faster recording. Title bar states how long time is left.

Add a way to show only one scene for the screensaver.
For the screensaver settings, a check box should be available to check which scenes get displayed. You could also show a list box for selected scenes then arrange the order with up/down/add/remove buttons.
1 voteThis can already be done using the playlists. Create a new playlist. Select it. Choose the single scene you want to show.

plane9 raspberry pi?
I want to put plane9 on several raspberry pi's, each connected to a projector in order to project several different scenes in varying directions with a common audio source.
So, youve got the main house audio that I want to route to each pi so while it is being output from the mixer each one reacts projecting something diff
How do I do this.
1 voteThere is not way to do this now and Raspberry pi only has OpenGL ES support so doesn’t meet minimum requirements

A good way to find the Scene Editor in Windows 8/8.1
I use windows 8, and I can't find the Scene Editor anywhere. I can't, go to "start menu->Programs->Plane9->Scene editor" because guess who doesn't have a programs list like Windows 7. I've scrolled through the list of programs that i can get to from the Windows 8 thing, accessed through the start menu. Not there. Tried searching it. Nothing. Tried going into the programs folder. Not there. I was really excited to make my own scene, and now i'm bummin'. I even tried reinstalling Plane9. Still couldn't find the editor.
1 voteThe scene editor has been removed in 2.x pending a remake

AIMP Plugin
A Native plugin.. the winamp plugin dosent work with AIMP 3+ many winamp plugs do but yours isn't one of them <wont reconise it> AIMP is one of the major players and works well
1 voteSupporting the various application plugins takes too much effort so no new will be added as it is now. Instead focus will be on getting the “capture all sound” windowed mode as good as possible since it will work with any sound source.

Hey there i was wondering where the editor is or if you would be up to do a one based on a videoexample hit me on skype "miagomusic"
Hey there first off i love the software : )!
i was wondering where the editor is or if you would be up to do a visualization based on a videoexample.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t2tjNqGyJI
The particles dont have to be mirrored tho just some flying from the center towards the viewer getting faster when the bass hitsI realy dont wanna bother you with it would rather try and do it myself but then again i suck at coding.
Thank you for your time : )

Improve detection of monitor orientation
First of all, very nice work on a fantastic screen saver. It's an art that appears to be fading of late.
I have an unusual monitor arrangement: My main monitor is horizontal (1920x1080) and my secondary is vertical (1080x1920). The screen saver is currently "squashing" the image on the main monitor to match the full short edge against the full long edge of the secondary monitor. For this layout, it would be better if the visuals were rendered in the overall virtual space, against which the screens would act as "windows into the box". I realize that would put some…1 vote -
Open the source code so we can learn from it and take it to the next level! It's free anyway and we love it! What's it written in?
Open the source code so we can learn from it and take it to the next level! It's free anyway and we love it! What's it written in?
1 voteI wont do this now. Might do it in the future though. The reason is that I like this as my own project, where I alone move it forward in whatever direction I feel. It is what drives me. I work as a lead in a another company and I don’t want this to become another project where I basically just manage and merge code.
But thanks for the offer!
It’s written in C++
