Is there already a way to disable the automatic shutdown?
By the way, awesome program. Used winamp milkdrop visualizer before but it doesn't work with Windows 8.
There is no automatic shutdown. It’s probably the normal windows sleep/hibernation modes your have set. Check the “power” options in the windows control panel.

So you don't mean when the computer sleeps/hibernates but when your monitor goes to sleep (something that is triggered by windows or possibly by the monitor itself)? I might have missed a use case here but why would you want to have the visualizer still running if the monitor is shutdown so you can't see it running? Just to be clear, Plane9 never causes the monitor to shutdown. It will just shutdown because something else stopped the monitor. Some monitors have inbuilt "eco" modes that causes them to shutdown in some cases.

I have checked all my power options. The current one I'm using do not have automatic shutdowns. I have gone so far as to change all the power options just in case. None of them have automatic shutdown now. This only occurs when I have plane9 as my screensaver. And I wouldn't even think it was caused by plane9 if not for the plane9 FAQ right here on the website that says "It detects when the monitor goes into standby and pauses/shuts down to save power" under "What makes Plane9 different from most other screensavers/visualizers?"
